Wigham House

bpr architects was invited to undertake the refurbishment and remodelling works to the entrance area, reception and three upper floors of this 1960s office building in Barking, Essex.

The external landscaping was redesigned to create a more welcoming new entrance to the building, and allow disabled users access via a new pedestrian ramp.

The reception area was designed to allow new speedgate entry to the building for additional security. Contemporary finishes and lighting were adopted throughout, and a new reception desk was fitted, which also accommodates the needs of disabled users.

In addition, the upper floor office spaces were stripped out and refurbished to provide flexible, open plan office accommodation.
