BPR are supporting Vistry Group to reconfigure Grade II listed station Wellingborough Station, via the provision of a new station entrance.

The project has been conceived to enable a new station entrance to serve a new community proposed to the east of Wellingborough, known as ‘’Stanton Cross‘’. We’re particularly proud that this is the first time that Network Rail’s Hub Station will be piloted! With its glulam frame and clean horizontal lines, the station exudes a clean modernistic aesthetic and has very sustainable credentials, with its glulam frame that has a carbon footprint of roughly a third that of its steel equivalent.

The station and its new multi-storey car park highlights the developer, Vistry Group's commitment to the area and is to be delivered as part of their Section 106 obligations.

In addition to the new multi-storey car park, it is proposed that the station will have a generous area of public realm to the front of the station, known as ‘Station Place’.

When completed, Stanton Cross is to accommodate 3,650 new homes, schools, employment space, and a number of amenities such as shops, cafes and restaurants.
