Our managing director Paul Beaty-Pownall was one of the judges for the Network Rail Future Stations Competition first round. See his thoughts and who has been shortlisted below:
"There was an amazing response to the Network Rail Future Stations Competition first round. We had lengthy discussions and a healthy debate working together with the other judges Lucy Musgrave OBE, Jonathan McDowell, Chris Wise Dinah Casson, Victoria Lee, Sahar Fikouhi, Anthony Dewar, Frank Anatole and Ian Grimes to filter through over 200 applications. We are very pleased with the 5 shortlisted teams that have produced an excellent range of ideas, with a strong focus on the local community and a keen eye on the future.
It will now be very interesting to work with the other judges to see how each of the teams evolve their strategies during the next stage of judging, and I would like to congratulate Atkins, Pascall+Watson, 7N Architects, Workshop Architecture and Miguel Angel Carrasco Architects for getting through to the shortlist."
