This 2.5 hectare campus provides state of the art facilities for Middlesex University in the Medine smart city in Flic-en-Flac, Mauritius. It features cutting-edge IT laboratories, seminar rooms, lecture theatres, cafés and a learning resource centre, as well as extensive student study and leisure areas. bpr developed the scheme through to concept design stage.  After which, as client adviser for the Mauritian architects Taktik and their JV partners Medine Ltd. The development completed in September 2017 and will provide students with the finest higher education facilities in the country.

Adjacent diagrams and concept plans were developed by bpr in close collaboration with the Middlesex University's Mauritius campus director and the overseas development team. These then formed part of the concept brief for the Mauritian developer alongside rds sheets, branding and quality guidelines, indicative massing models and reference visuals.

bpr worked closely with the Mauritian architects, Taktik, and the Mauritian developer Medine’s consultant team to ensure that this campus provided a comparable standard of quality for teaching and learning as the Middlesex University campus facilities in London.
