COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

We are passionate about dedicating our time outside of the projects to enhance the experience of communities we work with. Successful projects influance positive relationships between our clients and the local communities they serve, like:

  • Pavilion Project- the collaboration between BPR and MU Architectural Technology Students to provide the space open to all and utilised by the public and students alike.

  • Kenley Aerodrome- enabled RFCA cadet flying to resume after many years at their historically significant site. Our sustainable development positively affects the local community bringing flying back into action.

LOCAL ECONOMY

We procure goods and services locally where possible. On a project-by-project basis we explore potential opportunities of co-collaborating with local makers and designers.

For example:

  • Lea Bridge Project we dedicated a wall for local artist work.

  • Ritterman Building Project - we incorporated plinths into the design specifically to showcase local artists’ work.

  • Royal Docks Centre for Sustainability we provided dedicated locations for students and local business to showcase their work for others to buy and office workspaces for fledgling companies to rent as they start their journey.

TRAINING AND VOLUNTEERING

  • MU's Global Graduate Programme scholarship funding

  • Wandsworth Council programme BEST EBP - initiative bringing schools, colleges, and business together

  • RIBA Mentor scheme and Future Architects Pledge

  • Pro bono guest lectures at MU, Birmingham University and UEL

  • Partnership with UEL’s Internship scheme- undergraduate junior architects placement

  • Postgraduate MBA students group project

  • BPR team member valunteers as a chair of Battersea Design and Technology Quarter

  • Ongoing volunteering and lecturing events and work experiences placements as part of ongoing commitment to our social value policy
