Copthall Stadium is a new specialist-built stadium for Saracens Rugby Football Club located in the heart of Barnet. The scheme is split over four floors, with the internal area shared between Saracens and Middlesex University. The design will support facilities for the London Sports Institute and Health including specialist teaching areas for strength and conditioning, biomechanics, physiology labs alongside clinical simulation labs and community based simulation rooms.

BPR Architects have designed the interior fit out of all areas for the University and incorporated the strong Middlesex identity into the buildings design proposals. Spaces for collaboration and gathering have been incorporated into the long circulation routes throughout the building. Where possible, glazing has been incorporated to transfer light into the deep footprint of the building. We supported extensive stakeholder engagement to develop the brief and requirements for the scheme

Breathing Space

Our design proposal incorporates areas for students to meet and gather within. We believe these are as important as formal teaching spaces to support student activities on site, such as personal study or informal meetings.

World Class Facilities

This project brings together two world class organisations, Middlesex University and Saracens, to create a building which supports their mutual interest and add value to the use of the building. BPR Architects helped to facilitate discussions regarding the use of the space to take advantage of potential for mutual benefits.
