STONE X STADIUM: NURSING AND MIDWIFERY

Stone X Stadium is a new specialist-built stadium for Saracens Rugby Football Club located in the heart of Barnet. The scheme is split over four floors, with the internal area shared between Saracens and Middlesex University.

The nursing and midwifery coursers at MU were one of the key academic stakeholder on the project. BPR Architects worked closely with them to develop innovative simulation suites for their courses to be taught in. Key rooms include a new birthing facility, community consultation rooms and simulation A&E wards.

We supported extensive stakeholder engagement to develop the brief and requirements for the scheme. Once on site we supported the University as their client advisor whilst also being novated to support the contractor in delivering the project.

Breathing Space

Our design proposal incorporated areas for students to meet and gather within. We believe these are as important as formal teaching spaces to support student activities on site, such as personal study or informal meetings. Elements of glazing open up the activities of the building to those passing by and allow natural light to penetrate deeper into the footprint of the building.

World Class Facilities

This project includes world class simulation facilities for use by students training in nursing and midwifery. These include a Birthing Suite, A&E Environments and Consultancy Spaces.
