COULSDON CADET ACCOMMODATION

Coulsdon Cadet Centre will soon have a new two storey accommodation block providing overnight accommodation to support the RAF cadets who train at our new training school at Kenley Aerodrome. BPR Architects supported the RFCA for GL in re-using the footprint of an existing garage building on the ATC site to provide the new facility.

We were able to provide additional value in our proposals by rationalising the existing parking arrangement on site to achieve a high-quality pedestrian zone between the ATC building and the new overnight block of accommodation. We referenced the materiality and proportions of the existing building in our design proposals to create a complimentary new form on the site which sits comfortably within its context.
